"Building the future
of interactive

worlds."

Together with professional partners, Polybyte Medical develops concepts for controllable virtual environments. One current area of development explores their potential future use in professionally supervised trauma-therapy settings.

CONFIRMED PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION

Technical development meets a psychosocial perspective.

Our collaboration with InPerspective combines technical development with a psychosocial professional perspective. InPerspective contributes experience from psychosocial support, coaching, and counseling to conceptual questions. The collaboration is not a clinical, medical, or psychotherapeutic validation. The approach is in development and is not a clinically available medical device.

WHY VIRTUAL REALITY?

Technical exploration of controllable virtual environments.

VR makes it possible to vary spatial and situational parameters in technical concepts, prepare defined states reproducibly, and examine virtual scenarios step by step.

Parameterized Scenarios

Selected features can be configured within clearly defined technical limits.

Reproducible States

Defined configurations should remain technically restorable and traceable.

Virtual Spatial Concepts

Spatial situations can be explored conceptually without requiring a physical setup.

Spatial Representation

Immersive presentation makes scale and spatial relationships visible.

CONTROLLABLE PARAMETERS

Technical controllability from the outset.

Which parameters may be relevant to a future use case must be defined and reviewed together with qualified clinical partners.

Distance

Precisely adjust spatial proximity and perspective.

Intensity

Increase or reduce features gradually.

Sounds

Control and limit auditory stimuli separately.

Field of View

Match the visual scope to the professional approach.

Situational Stimuli

Combine, alter, or remove elements in a controlled way.

Pause & Stop

Pause or stop the situation at any time.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Control, reproducibility, and data protection.

Technical concepts must represent parameters transparently, reproduce defined states, and allow pausing or a complete stop at any time.

Controllable Parameters
Configurable values and permitted ranges must be documented clearly and limited technically.
Pause & Stop
Every system state must be interruptible and allow transition to a defined technical end state.
Data Protection & Minimization
Only technically necessary data should be processed, with storage paths limited from the outset.

SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND

Taking potential seriously. Reading the evidence with nuance.

Research is examining VR-based exposure as a possible complement to professionally guided treatment. The evidence remains heterogeneous and does not establish general superiority over established active treatments. Polybyte Medical makes no claims of medical efficacy or therapeutic success.

Established trauma-focused psychotherapies remain the professional reference point. Here, VR is explored as a controllable technical tool, not as a replacement for diagnostics, the therapeutic relationship, or clinical judgment.

CURRENT STATUS

A development approach, not an available medical device

Polybyte Labs works on concept development and technical exploration. There is currently no clinical availability, no regulatory approval, and no claim about the medical efficacy of any Polybyte product. Specific usage contexts require separate professional and legal review.
